Travelling on a wheelchair

Being physically challenged poses difficulties, not only for the individual but also for those around them who provide care. In this world, we often overlook the mental and emotional challenges faced by those with physical limitations. It's important to consider how we can navigate through this inconsiderate world before venturing out.

During a recent trip with my brother, we encountered numerous obstacles and frustrations. He struggled with limited mobility, while I grappled with frustration towards a world that lacks accessibility. It's simple to make spaces more accommodating, yet many fail to consider this, not just for wheelchair users but also for the elderly who struggle with steps.

Instead of relaxing and enjoying our time, we found ourselves consumed by resentment and anger. When these emotions became overwhelming, I broke down in tears. Eventually, we decided to focus on accessible activities and avoid those that weren't, making the most of our holiday.

incident that stood out was a sign we saw at Surakarta airport with a typo that made us laugh. Upon researching, we discovered that "Diffable" actually meant "Differently able," a touching reminder of the importance of inclusivity and accessibility.

Throughout our journey, we learned valuable lessons about ourselves and our capabilities. We realized the need for flexibility in order to find joy, shifting our perspective from negativity to positivity. It's all about mindset and how we choose to approach challenges that determines our happiness.

As you go about your day, remember not to be self-centered but to extend a helping hand to those in need. One day, you may find yourself in need of assistance, and that kindness will come full circle. Goodnight, everyone.
