On the way home

I woke up bright and early at 5am, ready to bid farewell to the enchanting island of Bali after spending 17 incredible days there. The island was abuzz with excitement as it prepared for a grand ceremony day. The houses adorned with beautiful offerings and vibrant decorations created a picturesque sight, while the locals dressed elegantly, adding to the festive atmosphere.

As I left Bali, I couldn't help but anticipate my return to Egypt, where I knew I would be greeted by the delightful decorations of Ramadan. The vibrant colors and the nostalgic sound of old Ramadan songs playing in shops and homes always fill my heart with joy. This month holds a special place in my heart due to its profound spiritual significance.

I have a deep appreciation for any spiritual practice that is carried out with genuine intention and understanding. It's important to me that these practices are not mere imitations or traditions passed down without thought. True faith and belief are the key ingredients for a meaningful spiritual journey.

Upon arriving home, I was greeted by the comforting aroma of a warm meal lovingly prepared by my mother. We gathered around the table, sharing stories of our trip and the adventures we had experienced. We delved into discussions about the rich Balinese culture and the stark differences we observed between the two islands we visited, including their religions and practices.

The evening was filled with warmth and love, and I cherished every moment of our family gathering. Lately, I've found myself yearning to be in the presence of my loved ones more often, a sentiment that wasn't as strong a few years ago.

Today, I embarked on a little adventure around Cairo with my sister. I can't wait to share all the exciting details with you in my next article.

Sending love to all of you.
