Happy Eid

I find great joy in the tranquility and peace that fills the streets on Eid mornings. After the prayer, as families gather and people retreat to their homes, the streets become free and unburdened. It is during this time that I love to venture out and drive, observing the city in all its glory.

Similarly, during Ramadan, when the call for prayer echoes through the air, everyone heads home. I cherish driving through the streets at this time, as it feels like witnessing a masterpiece of abstract art. There is no distortion or noise, only a serene and innocent ambiance.

It deeply troubles me to witness the immense damage and pollution we are causing. Our actions harm nature, animals, and even lead to the destruction of trees and seas. In our city, we once had a lush green landscape, adorned with ancient trees that provided shade and beauty. However, the world we live in is plagued by corruption, where governments prioritize power and wealth over the environment, health, and education.

During the time when the world was gripped by the spread of the coronavirus, I couldn't help but notice the profound changes it brought. As the human population retreated, the outside world became quiet, allowing animals to roam freely and trees to flourish. The air became cleaner without the usual traffic. In a way, the pandemic served as a pause for everything on our planet, granting it a much-needed break from the human race.

Sometimes, I yearn for a collective awakening among humanity. I hope that we can truly comprehend the extent of the damage we have inflicted and take steps to reverse it. It is my fantasy, a dream that one day we will come together and work towards a better future. May this dream become a reality, without the need for further losses and irreversible damage.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous Eid and a peaceful night.
