A Few Days Away from My Favorite Season

Autumn comes with wisdom and changes. As tree leaves fall, we too go through a similar process—shedding what no longer serves us and creating space for new energy, feelings, and possibilities.

Some might feel overwhelmed by the waves of emotions that arise as summer fades and we prepare for winter. The slower pace, coupled with a sense of longing and nostalgia, can be triggered by falling leaves, cloudy skies, shorter days, and longer nights.

Autumn often brings with it a time of remembrance, where we reflect on our losses and long for loved ones who have left us. It’s a season that offers us the chance to process our emotions and let go, freeing up space for the new to enter. For me, it’s my favorite season because I retreat into my own bubble with the intention of healing and letting go. On the other hand, it’s also my most creative season—I don’t know why, but I enjoy cooking more, taking long walks with my dogs, and writing during this time.

Everything feels better in autumn. It could be a meaningful ritual to set your intention to let go of anything that no longer serves you during the Equinox. Free your heart and mind and allow yourself to feel any sadness that may arise. Accept it, but don’t dwell on it—be cautious of getting trapped in the “whys.”

Connect with the wisdom of autumn; let it sink in and absorb all of it. Hold yourself close, give yourself a hug, and ground yourself. One simple way to do this is through a Qigong exercise—I’ll be offering a class on transitioning to autumn soon.

Have a good evening, everyone.
