I felt somewhere else

Walking along the beach, time seemed to stop for a brief moment. I felt my legs sinking into the sand, and the world went silent. A wave of comfort washed over me, as if a spirit were embracing me, reassuring me that everything was okay and reminding me to ground myself.

This moment was fleeting, but it was profound and fulfilling. It reminded me of what I appreciate most about Qigong: its grounding practice. Qigong teaches us to slow down, connect with nature, and connect within ourselves.

Many people suffer because they’ve disconnected from the earth and from themselves. This connection is crucial; it’s the measure of where we are in life, where we stand with ourselves and others.

I wish I could fully explain the feeling I had at that moment—feeling one with the ground beneath me and floating with the wind, experiencing a oneness with all the elements, and a sense of completeness that came from within.

It was the same feeling I had during my first Qigong class. I felt like I had left my physical shell; I didn’t feel like I was walking but rather being carried, rotating in perfect harmony with the earth. This should be the norm, but for it to happen, we need to do two things: live in the now and practice acceptance. Cultivating these two qualities will bring peace to our soul and mind, providing us with a sense of completeness.

I hope to remember this all the time, though I sometimes lose my way—not often, but it happens. For those who have never felt this, I wish they get to experience it.

Have a great day, everyone.
