Goodbye October
October was challenging but marked significant progress, both practically and personally. It tested my patience with ignorance, my kindness with those who’ve hurt me, and my wisdom in handling others’ blind spots. Through these trials, I learned to pause, assess my abilities, and prioritize my well-being without feeling compelled to please anyone. This shift was freeing.
The month also revealed much about the people around me. Observing how some demand change while refusing to evolve themselves shed light on underlying hypocrisy. For me, true understanding begins with listening—a lesson we often overlook. If we want others to understand us, we must allow them the space to voice their thoughts, even if that means reevaluating our own perspective in the process. Listening might be the key to bridging divides and fostering deeper connections.
Despite my efforts, I’ve realized that my message hasn’t always come across as intended. I see and understand certain truths that may not be apparent to others, often because of entrenched views or ego. This month underscored that meaningful change requires patience and persistence, especially in helping others awaken to different perspectives.
We’re living in a world that pushes us into a “hamster wheel” of relentless activity, making it harder to truly connect and understand one another. But the solution lies in shared basic principles and respect, creating a foundation for the next generation and a healthier world.
I’ve also reflected on my approach to one of my core causes: stopping the mass killing of dogs through strychnine poisoning. I see now that I need a more strategic plan, starting with educating young minds. By teaching children to respect and connect with animals, we can reduce cruelty and shift perspectives. This work will take time and collective effort, as communities come together to tackle the roots of these problems.
While this focus diverted me from my writing, I intend to return to it as a daily practice—a way to process, reflect, and share my journey.
Here’s to November and the new opportunities it may bring.
Have a great month everyone.
